NEXT STEPS

To defeat this plan, Not 1 More Acre! and its sister organization, the Purgatoire, Apishapa
& Comanche Grassland Trust, is expanding their alliances and broadening public support.

To be successful, we must accomplish the following:

• engage citizen action to successfully make the funding ban prohibiting expansion at Piñon Canyon policy through Congressional passage of the following sentence: Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Secretary of Defense shall not carry out any construction or acquisition of real property at the Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site, Colorado; all other provisions of law enabling Piñon Canyon expansion are nullified;
• engage taxpayer action demanding government and contractor transparency to end abuses of the public trust;
• prosecute abuses of the US District Court Order prohibiting expanded training at Piñon
  Canyon and violations to the Congressional funding ban prohibiting expansion of the PCMS;
• successfully challenge National Environmental Policy Act and National Historic Preservation Act abuses by the Pentagon and its private contractors to expand Joint Forces Combat Systems air and land training space;
• increase public awareness of the cultural, environmental and economic impacts of overreach by the Pentagon and its contractors and mobilize action across the nation through media coverage and development of electronic media educational tools to end invention of the 51st State by the Pentagon and its contractors;
• create strategic legal and political precedents that protect bioregions, cultural heritage, localities, property rights, public lands and economies from militarization and other forms of destructive, large-scale intervention.
